The successor headphones to the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus It could get a highly anticipated benefit (noise cancellation) and launch alongside the expected Samsung Galaxy Note 20.
That’s according to a new report outside of Korea, which also supports claims that the new name will be Galaxy Buds … Beans. Why? If you caught the recent leakage Revealing the returns of the new look, the answer is obvious: They’ve been redesigned to look like small beans and seem to hide within the ear canal.
Noise cancellation would put these Galaxy Buds in a more even position with the Apple AirPods Pro, which launched in late 2019 with sound-dampening technology with a lot of fanfare. The Galaxy Buds Plus, on the other hand, was released in early 2020 alongside the Samsung Galaxy S20 series … but remarkably without noise cancellation.
That leak revealed that the Beans will be 28mm long, but this new report alleges that they will be 13mm wide and that the box containing them will be 26mm thick. Each headphone will include two speakers and three microphones each, but it is supposed to retain the 11-hour battery life managed by the Galaxy Buds Plus.
There is also a price leak, but deal with skepticism
While these leaks are the first reports on these new headphones and therefore should be taken with a grain of salt, we are more skeptical of the alleged price. The report alleges that the Beans will be set at 170,000 won, which is around $ 140 (around £ 141 / AU $ 221). Considering that the Galaxy Buds Plus was priced at 179,000 won / $ 149.99 / £ 159 / AU $ 299, we doubt that the hits are the final price of the Beans.
There are a few other notes in the leak, namely that Samsung may further reduce the Beans’ supposed current dimensions to improve its fit. But with a product in such early stages, we expect it to change before we finally see it in real life.
