SINGAPORE – Nine new coronavirus cases were confirmed as of noon on Friday (October 16), bringing Singapore’s total to 57,901.

They included a case in a worker’s bedroom here, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said.

There were also eight imported cases that were included in stay-at-home notices upon arrival in Singapore.

There were no new cases in the community, the Health Ministry said.

Three new cases of coronavirus were reported on Thursday.

None of these were community cases.

Two of the three new cases on Thursday were imported, including a Singaporean who returned from the United States and a work permit holder who returned from Indonesia.

Both imported cases were placed on stay-at-home notices upon arrival in Singapore, the Health Ministry said.

The last new case Thursday was a patient in a worker’s bedroom that was detected through routine testing of workers staying in the bedrooms. He was asymptomatic when he was tested.

The Mohammadi restaurant on Lembu Road in Little India was added to the list of places visited by Covid-19 infected patients on Thursday.

The patient was in the restaurant last Saturday between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.

The Health Ministry said that close contacts would have already been notified and there is no need to avoid places on the list, as they would have been cleaned if necessary.

The ministry provides the list of places that infectious Covid-19 patients visited for at least 30 minutes and the hours they visited so that people who were in these places at the same time closely monitor their health for two weeks from the date of your visit. .

The Health Ministry also said that the Covid-19 group at SCM Tuas Lodge has been closed, as it has had no new cases linked to it for 28 days, or two incubation periods.

The average number of daily new cases in the community in a week has decreased from an average of one case per day two weeks ago to an average of less than one case per day in the last week.

The number of unrelated cases in the community in a week has also decreased from a daily average of less than one case per day to none in the same period.

With 12 cases discharged on Thursday, 57,749 patients have fully recovered from the disease.

A total of 36 patients remained in the hospital Thursday, none in intensive care, while 64 recovered in community facilities.

Singapore has had 28 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.

Globally, the virus outbreak, which began in December last year, has infected more than 38.5 million people. More than 1.09 million people have died.
