SINGAPORE – Nine new coronavirus cases were confirmed as of noon on Tuesday (Nov. 10), bringing Singapore’s total to 58,473.

They include seven imported cases that were placed on stay-at-home notices upon arrival in Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) said.

There was a community case and a case of a worker’s bedroom.

More details will be announced Tuesday night.

On Monday, the Ministry of Health confirmed eight new cases of coronavirus.

There were no cases in community or worker dormitories for the fourth day in a row.

All eight cases were imported and placed on stay-at-home notices upon arrival in Singapore.

Of these eight, three were permanent residents who returned from India, Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The patient from the United Arab Emirates was a 47-year-old man who underwent a Covid-19 polymerase chain reaction test upon returning to Singapore, isolating himself at home while awaiting the test result.

They took him to the hospital after his test came back positive the next day.

Two other cases were work pass holders who came from South Korea and the Philippines.

Of the last three cases, two were work permit holders arriving from Indonesia, while the remaining case was a long-term visit pass holder from India.

The Health Ministry added that the number of new cases in the community has remained low, with a total of one case in the last week, which is currently not linked.

With six cases discharged on Monday, 57,966 patients have made a full recovery from the disease.

As of Monday night, 34 patients remained in the hospital, none in intensive care, while 21 were still recovering in community facilities.

Singapore has had 28 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.

Globally, the virus outbreak, which began in December last year, has infected more than 50.3 million people. More than 1.2 million people have died.
