Four people, including an eight-year-old girl, were taken to the hospital when a red Audi and a pickup truck collided on Woodlands Avenue 12 around 8 p.m. last Friday night (October 23).

Collision causes critical injuries

In a video posted on Facebook by ROADS.sg, the two vehicles were seen colliding. The girl and her 23-year-old cousin were thrown from the vehicle by the impact.

The red Audi was driving in the far right lane when a gray truck suddenly pulled up ahead to make a turn, causing the Audi to hit its brakes and violently collide with the truck.

Police said all four passengers in both vehicles were conscious when they were taken to hospital.

The girl, however, is unconscious one day after her emergency operation. Her father said she was operated on at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital before being transferred to the intensive care unit at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

The girl’s condition remains unstable but has slightly improved

The eight-year-old’s father, Tan, has stated that while her condition was only slightly better, the doctor said the next few days will remain critical for her due to blood clots in her brain.

He also reportedly suffered fractures to both legs, with a more serious injury to his right leg.

The child remains in intensive care at the time of the report.

Tan doesn’t blame his brother-in-law, who revealed himself as the driver of the truck.

The driver of the van, who was later arrested for reckless driving, was revealed to be Tan’s brother-in-law.

Tan said he doesn’t blame him for the accident. He has since been released by authorities, but would be called in to assist in future investigations.

Audi suspected of speeding

Meanwhile, the driver of the red Audi was allegedly accelerating in the video and is believed to have failed to brake in time to avoid the collision.

So now you are seeking help from anyone who may have more information about the accident.
