Five men and three women, aged between 22 and 27, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a violent altercation that broke out at a club in Boay Quay.
Police said they were alerted to a fight in which a group of eight people were allegedly attacked by a group at a club on Sunday (December 13), around 12.50 a.m.
The victims suffered minor injuries. One of them, a 40-year-old man, was transferred to Singapore General Hospital.
Through investigations and with the help of CCTV images, agents from the Central Police Division established the identities of the assailants, who consisted of five men and three women.
The group of eight was arrested Monday for riots.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the eight victims are unknown to the attackers and had allegedly attacked the victims due to a dispute,” police said Wednesday, adding that investigations are ongoing.
Police are also looking for a man to assist in investigations into the reported riot case and have posted a photo of him.
