A massive fire broke out in a two-story warehouse in Tuas on Wednesday morning (May 13).

The Singapore Civil Defense Force said it responded to the fire at 2B Tuas Avenue 12 at around 6:50 a.m.

The fire, which included the contents of the warehouse consisting mainly of machinery and bales of plastic resins, was seen from the second floor of the building when firefighters arrived.

In photos and videos that Stomper William shared, a thick cloud of smoke can be seen from the warehouse.

“SCDF immediately deployed its resources to surround and contain the fire,” it said in a statement on Facebook.

“The firefighters faced the intense heat of the fire, which caused the rupture of the walls of the premises.

“A total of 16 emergency vehicles and some 70 firefighters were deployed. At the height of operations, eight hand planes were used to mitigate the fire.”

The fire was extinguished at approximately 7.50 in the morning. Damping operations are currently underway.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
