SINGAPORE: Singapore reported seven new COVID-19 cases as of noon on Thursday (October 29), the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in its daily preliminary update.
All new infections are imported cases. All seven were put on notice to stay at home upon arrival in Singapore, the Health Ministry said.
The Health Ministry added that there were no new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection.
This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 57,994.
IMPORTED CASES
Two of the imported cases are Singaporeans who returned from India, a 52-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman.
Three other cases are Singapore-employed work permit holders who had traveled from Indonesia and the Philippines.
The imported cases also include a 33-year-old woman with a dependent pass who traveled from Switzerland.
The remaining case is a 52-year-old man with a special pass who came from the Philippines to board a ship docked here as a member of the crew.
All imported COVID-19 cases reported Thursday are asymptomatic.

A total of 28 people have died in Singapore from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
Overall, the number of new, as well as unrelated, cases in the community has increased from two and one case, respectively, in the previous week, to three in the last week.
2 COME IN A POSITIVE TEST CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT NEXT
Separately, two cornerbacks scheduled to be part of the mixed martial arts promotion firm ONE Championship live sporting event on Friday tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.
Both men tested negative for COVID-19 before flying to Singapore from the US and Russia, and also tested negative for coronavirus upon arrival.
However, they tested positive on Tuesday and serological tests the next day were positive in both men.
The Health Ministry “has determined that these are past cases of infection, following epidemiological investigations,” said ONE Championship and the Singapore Tourism Board.
RECREATION CENTERS OPEN TO MIGRANT WORKERS WHO TEST NEGATIVE
All foreign worker dormitory residents who test negative for COVID-19 will be able to visit recreation centers on their days off beginning Saturday. They must come from a bedroom that does not have active COVID-19 cases, the Ministry of Manpower said Wednesday.
This comes after more than two months of testing in which some 30,000 workers from some 300 bedrooms were allowed to visit the recreation centers on their days off.

In these centers, they can buy food, send money, get a haircut and have dinner with their friends. Safe distancing officers will be at the centers to make sure workers are complying with COVID-19 safety measures.
To visit the recreation center assigned to their dormitory, workers will need to request an exit pass through the SGWorkPass mobile app and can do so seven days in advance. They should reserve time slots to avoid overcrowding.
