SINGAPORE – Seven new coronavirus cases were confirmed as of noon on Thursday (Nov. 5), bringing Singapore’s total to 58,043.

They included six imported cases that had been placed on stay-at-home notices upon arrival in Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) said.

There was also one case in the community and none in the workers’ bedrooms.

More details will be announced Thursday night.

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Health announced seven new cases of coronavirus.

These included five imported cases that had been placed on stay-at-home notices upon arrival here, the ministry said.

There were no new cases in the community. Two were from workers’ dormitories.

The Health Ministry said that among the five imported patients, one is the holder of a dependent pass. The 33-year-old Indian national, a woman, came from the United Arab Emirates.

The remaining four imported cases are currently used in Singapore.

One is a 24-year-old Swiss man with a work pass that came from Switzerland.

The other three cases are holders of work permits.

Two women, one 27 and one 32, are Myanmar citizens who came from Myanmar.

The third case is that of a 33-year-old Indonesian woman who arrived from Indonesia.

All five imported patients tested positive Tuesday and showed no symptoms.

Of the two cases living in dormitories, both were detected through surveillance tests, the Health Ministry said.

He added that the number of new cases in the community has remained low, with one of those cases in the last week not currently linked.

With one patient discharged on Wednesday, 57,923 patients have fully recovered from the disease.

A total of 44 patients remained in the hospital on Wednesday. None were in intensive care. Another 26 were recovering in community facilities.

Singapore has had 28 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.

Globally, the virus outbreak, which began in December last year, has infected more than 47.4 million people. More than 1.2 million people have died.
