It was a sad day for Liverpool on Saturday.
Jurgen Klopp put his side to the test one last time at Melwood before his move to Kirkby.
This had been Liverpool’s training center for the past 60 years.
But Kirkby’s ‘ultra-modern facilities’ mean that the Premier League champions will train there, alongside members of the club’s academy, in the future.
Several Liverpool players reacted yesterday to the last training session at Melwood, but here is the tribute from Alisson.
The Brazilian goalkeeper, signed for £ 66m in 2018, wrote on Instagram: “Last day at Melwood! I will keep some good memories of this place. “
On the pitch, Liverpool hope their final session will result in a win tonight.
Klopp’s team visit Manchester City knowing that a victory would put them back to the top of the Premier League table.
Pep Guardiola’s side have not been in good shape as of late, but Virgil van Dijk’s absence means that 2018 and 2019 champions City will be a narrow favorite to beat the title holders later today.
