Four men and three women were arrested for suspected drug offenses during police operations against unlicensed public entertainment venues last week.

The raids were carried out along Ubi Road 1 and Kallang Pudding Road by the Bedok Police Division from October 28 to 31.

“A total of 39 men and 18 women, between 19 and 66 years old, were investigated for their alleged breach of the COVID19 Regulation (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) for meeting in a group of more than five people,” said the Police in a statement on Wednesday (November 4).

Two men are also being investigated for offering public entertainment and selling liquor without a valid license.

Police investigations are ongoing and the Central Narcotics Office is investigating the alleged drug-related activities of the arrested suspects.

Under the Public Entertainment Act, the crime of providing public entertainment without a valid license carries a fine not to exceed $ 20,000.

Under the Alcoholic Beverage Control (Supply and Consumption) Act of 2015, the crime of supplying alcoholic beverages without a valid license carries a fine not to exceed $ 20,000.

“Actions will be taken against operators for disobeying the rules and regulations of the Public Entertainment Law and the Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Law of 2015,” the police added.

“The police take seriously anyone who breaks the law and violators will be dealt with in accordance with the law.”
