SINGAPORE – There were three new Covid-19 cases confirmed as of noon on Monday (October 26), bringing Singapore’s total to 57,973.

There were two imported cases that were placed on stay-at-home notices upon arrival in Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) said on Monday.

There were no new community cases, but there was one case from a worker’s bedroom.

More details will be announced Monday night, the Health Ministry said.

The two new Covid-19 cases transmitted locally and confirmed on Sunday were migrant workers living in dormitories.

One was tested when he developed symptoms of acute respiratory infection, while the other was asymptomatic and was detected through routine testing of workers living in dormitories.

There were also three asymptomatic imported cases, including a permanent resident of Singapore, an Indian national with a dependent pass, and a holder of a short-term visit pass from Indonesia. The holder of the short-term visitation pass was allowed entry to visit her son, who is a permanent resident.

The imported cases had arrived from Britain, the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia, respectively, and were placed on stay-at-home notices upon arrival in Singapore.

The Health Ministry also said that the Covid-19 group at North Coast Lodge has been closed as there have been no cases linked to it for 28 days.

The number of new cases in the community has dropped from five cases two weeks ago to two last week.

The number of unrelated cases in the community has remained at two per week for the past two weeks.

With 14 new cases discharged, 57,843 patients have fully recovered from the disease.

A total of 51 patients remained in the hospital, while 33 recovered in community facilities.

Singapore has had 28 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.
