SINGAPORE – A 30-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were arrested in a drug bust that saw the seizure of about $ 640,000 worth of narcotics.
The duo, both Singaporeans, were arrested on Tuesday (Sept. 8) and are currently under investigation for alleged drug-related activities, the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) said in a press release on Wednesday.
“During the operation a total of approximately 1,500 g of heroin, approximately 1,203 g of ‘Ice’, approximately 10 g of cannabis, approximately 512 g of ketamine, 669 tablets of ‘Ecstasy’ and 7,502 tablets of Erimin-5 were seized. Cash for $ 8,680 was also recovered. Cash was also recovered for $ 8,680, ”CNB said.
The bureau said officers arrested the man Tuesday afternoon at a development near Boon Lay Drive. He then took the CNB officers to his residence within the same farm, where the woman was arrested.
Following a search of the unit, 24 packages and bottles were found containing the ‘Ice’, cannabis, ketamine, ‘Ecstasy’ and Erimin-5 tables, along with packaging materials and cash.
A subsequent search of the man’s vehicle uncovered three packages containing the heroin.
“The total amount of 1,500 g of heroin seized is enough to fuel the addiction of about 715 abusers for a week, while the total amount of 1,203 g of ‘ice’ seized is enough to fuel the addiction of about 690 abusers for a week , ”CNB said.
