SINGAPORE – 15 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed as of noon on Sunday (September 27), bringing Singapore’s total to 57,700.

This includes five imported cases, which had been placed on a stay-at-home notice upon arrival in Singapore.

There were no new community cases, said the Ministry of Health (MINSA).

More details will be announced Sunday night.

On Saturday (September 26), 20 new coronavirus cases were confirmed, including one community case and five imported cases.

The community case is a work permit holder from India and the case is currently not linked.

It was detected as a result of routine tests carried out by the Ministry of Health on workers in the construction, marine and process sectors living outside the bedrooms.

Meanwhile, the five imported Covid-19 cases include a work pass holder, three work permit holders and a dependent pass holder.

Four of the cases are currently employed in Singapore and arrived from India and Indonesia on September 14, and from Brazil and the Philippines on September 13. The clerk’s pass holder arrived from India on September 15.

All of them had received a 14-day stay-at-home notice (SHN) upon arrival in Singapore.

Migrant workers living in dormitories made up the remaining 14 new coronavirus patients announced on Saturday.

The number of new cases in the community has remained stable at an average of less than one case per day in the last two weeks.

The number of unrelated cases in the community has also remained stable at an average of less than one case per day in the same period.

With 19 cases discharged on Saturday, 57,344 patients have made a full recovery from the disease.

A total of 25 patients remain hospitalized, none in intensive care, while 274 recover in community facilities.

Singapore has had 27 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.

Globally, the virus outbreak, which began in December last year, has infected more than 33 million people. More than 998,000 people have died.
