SINGAPORE – 13 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed as of noon on Monday (December 7), bringing Singapore’s total to 58,273.
The 13 new cases were imported. They had been placed on stay-at-home notices or isolated upon arrival in Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) said.
There were no cases in the workers’ bedrooms and none in the community.

On Sunday, Singapore reported five new cases of Covid-19.

Among the new cases are four that did not show any symptoms and were detected through screening and proactive surveillance.

The 35-year-old man has a short-term visitation pass and is a contact for two previous imported cases from Indonesia: a 41-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man who are also here for short-term visits. .
Three of the other cases were also asymptomatic.
These are two Indonesian women, one 35 and one 41, who have a work permit and are employed here, as well as a 21-year-old man from Great Britain who is the son of a permanent resident of Singapore. .
The last of the five cases is that of a 28-year-old woman who came from the United States. The clerk’s pass holder began showing symptoms last Wednesday.
The Health Ministry said Sunday that epidemiological investigations are underway.
All close contacts of the cases that have been identified have been isolated and quarantined, and will be evaluated at the beginning and end of their quarantine period so that infections can be detected even if they do not show any symptoms.
They will also need to undergo serological tests, which can determine if a person has ever been infected with the coronavirus, even if they are not currently infected.
The Health Ministry said the number of new cases in the community has remained low with a total of three cases in the last week, of which two are currently unlinked.
There are currently 71 active cases of Covid-19 infections, with 44 patients in community facilities and 27 patients in hospitals.
Singapore has seen 29 deaths from complications stemming from Covid-19, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.
Globally, the virus outbreak, which began in December last year, has infected more than 64.5 million people. More than 1.49 million people have died.
