SINGAPORE: Thirteen new COVID-19 cases were reported in Singapore as of noon on Tuesday (December 29), the Ministry of Health (MINSA) said in its daily preliminary update.
All 13 cases were imported and placed on a stay-at-home notice or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.
No new cases were found in the community or in the dormitories of foreign workers.
More details of the new cases will be released Tuesday night, the Health Ministry said.

Singapore entered Phase 3 of its reopening on Monday. Social gatherings of up to eight people are now allowed in public, compared to the previous five. Also, homes can receive up to eight visitors.
Worship services can now hold up to 250 people, and capacity limits have also been increased in public places such as shopping malls and attractions.
The government will begin vaccinating healthcare workers starting Wednesday, starting with those of the National Center for Infectious Diseases (NCID).
This will be followed by vaccinations for the elderly, starting with those aged 70 and over, beginning in February. Thereafter, other Singaporeans and long-term residents who are medically eligible for vaccines can do so.

The only community case of COVID-19 from Singapore reported Monday is a Singapore Airlines manager who recently traveled to the United States for work.
It was classified as a case of local transmission due to a “relatively long time interval” between its trip and the positive COVID-19 test, the Health Ministry said.
The Health Ministry said the 48-year-old, who is also a part-time private driver with Grab, had traveled to the United States from December 12-16 on a “controlled itinerary.”
The cabin crew who were on the same US flight that the man tested negative for COVID-19, while all of his identified close contacts were isolated and quarantined.
As of Tuesday, Singapore has reported 58,542 cases of COVID-19.
