12 New Covid-19 Cases in Singapore, None in the Community, Singapore News & Top Stories

SINGAPORE – 12 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed as of noon on Saturday (October 31), bringing Singapore’s total to 58,015.

All 12 are imported cases and have been included in stay-at-home notices upon arrival in Singapore.

More details will be announced Saturday night.

On Friday night, the Health Ministry added Jem, Westgate, Mustafa Center and the Immigration and Control Points Authority (ICA) building to the list of places visited by Covid-19 patients while they were infectious.

The other locations are BLS International at International Plaza, Jetspeed Travel, and McDonald’s stores at City Square and Hillion.

H&M in Jem was visited twice, while Uniqlo in the same mall was visited once.

The Ministry of Health provides the list of places that infectious Covid-19 patients visited for at least 30 minutes and the hours they visited so that people who were in those places at the same time monitor their health for two weeks from the date of your visit.

The Health Ministry confirmed nine new cases of coronavirus on Friday.

An asymptomatic permanent resident of 20 years was the only community case. His infection was detected when he conducted a Covid-19 test prior to departure on Tuesday ahead of a planned trip to India.

There were seven imported cases, including one permanent resident, one long-term visitor pass holder, three work pass holders, one work permit holder, and one special pass holder.

The number of new cases in the community has increased from two cases in the previous week to four in the last week.

The number of unrelated cases in the community in one week also increased from one case to four during the same period.

With 10 cases discharged on Friday, 57,894 patients have made a full recovery. A total of 42 patients remain in the hospital, while 24 recover in community facilities.

Singapore has had 28 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.

Globally, the virus outbreak, which began in December last year, has infected more than 45.9 million people. More than 1.19 million people have died.
