10 New Covid-19 Cases in Singapore, All Imported, Featured Parenting and Education News and Stories

SINGAPORE – 10 new coronavirus cases were confirmed as of noon on Wednesday (March 10), bringing Singapore’s total to 60,062.

All were imported cases that had been placed on stay-at-home notices upon arrival in Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) said.

A five-year-old girl from India was among 10 imported cases.

The holder of the short-term visitation pass is asymptomatic and is a contact from a previous case.

The remaining short-term visit pass holders who tested positive traveled from Indonesia.

There were also two permanent residents who returned from India and Turkey, as well as a dependent’s pass holder who arrived from India.

Four other work permit holders came from countries such as Bangladesh and Malaysia.

There were no community cases and none of the migrant workers’ dormitories, the Health Ministry said.

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has decreased to two cases in the last week, from four cases in the previous week.

The number of unrelated cases in the community has also decreased to one case in the last week, from four cases in the previous week.

With six cases discharged on Wednesday, 59,896 patients have fully recovered from the disease.

A total of 25 patients remain in the hospital, including one in critical condition in the intensive care unit, while 97 are recovering in community facilities.

Singapore has had 29 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.

Globally, the virus outbreak, which began in December 2019, has infected more than 117 million people. More than 2.6 million people have died.
