SINGAPORE – 13 new coronavirus cases were confirmed as of noon on Saturday (March 6), bringing Singapore’s total to 60,020.

They included 12 imported cases that had been placed on stay-at-home notice upon arrival in Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) said.

There was a new case in the community.

On Friday, the Ministry of Health announced nine new cases of Covid-19, all imported.

He said patients had received a stay-at-home notice upon arrival in Singapore, and were evaluated while their notices were being delivered.

All were asymptomatic.

Of the cases on Friday, three were dependent pass holders who arrived from Bangladesh, India and South Africa.

One was a holder of a long-term visit pass from South Africa.

Three were work pass holders from India and the Philippines.

The last two cases announced on Friday were work permit holders arriving from Indonesia and the Philippines, one of whom was a foreign domestic worker, the Health Ministry said.

No new cases were announced in the community or in workers’ bedrooms on Friday.

The number of new cases in the community has dropped from four cases two weeks ago to three last week.

However, the number of unrelated cases in the community has remained stable at two cases per week in the same period.

With 13 cases discharged on Friday, 59,855 patients have fully recovered from the disease.

A total of 17 patients remained in the hospital on Friday, including one in the intensive care unit, while 91 recovered in community facilities.

Singapore has had 29 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.
