Live traces of coronavirus were found on frozen seafood packages in the Chinese city, government health officials said.
The discovery was made during a recent cluster investigation of a COVID-19 case in Qingdao.
“It has been confirmed that contact with external packaging contaminated with the new coronavirus can cause infection,” said the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention Said in a statement.
The report does not indicate that any of the stable packaging contained the virus, which came from an unknown foreign country.
The World Health Organization says “food packaging materials do not need to be disinfected” – although officials insist you should wash your hands thoroughly after handling frozen food and its packaging.
China has been the only country to suggest that the deadly virus could be transmitted through a stable diet. The outbreak in Beijing this summer could come from imported salmon, officials said.
Until the recent outbreak, China has not reported any new coronavirus cases in nearly two months. Officials say two dock workers have infected dozens of people at the hospital.
U.S. Department of Disease Control and Prevention “It is possible for people to get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object object, such as a food package or a dining ware that has a virus on it, and then touch it,” Kendra said on its site. Their own mouth, nose or maybe their eyes. However, this is not thought to be the main way the virus is spread. “
