Shroud reveals why he chose Twitch return over YouTube as Facebook

Michael ‘sly’ Grzesiek has admitted that he would always go to Twitch after the shock of Mixer in July, in part because the actual competition sites YouTube and Facebook are simply not big enough for all his “big plans.”

The retired CSGO pro originally exploded as one of the world’s leading streamers on Twitch, before discovering to Microsoft-owned Mixer in the wake of the platform’s exclusivity wars. He was one of many, including Ninja and FaZe Clan’s Ewok.

Mixer, however, did not last. On June 22, it was announced that the Twitch rival would close doors just a month later. The move left a host of streaming stars, including Heaven, as the hottest free agents on the market.

Alone, Cloth would never consider a move to YouTube or Facebook Gaming, the star revealed during his first stream return. He was always back to the website where he built his fandom. The Twitch movement “just fits in,” he said.

“I stream exclusively on Twitch.tv, nowhere else! I’m actually back, ”the former Mixer streamer said early in his return.

‘Many of you are like why Twitch? Of course, Twitch is the best, apparently, duh! Born and raised on this platform from the beginning. It’s the biggest [streaming platform]. Definitely the greatest in gaming. It just feels good, you know?

“Twitch fits in well with the big plans I have in gaming. I might have some plans coming up … I’m just not going to tell you yet. There are some cool things I build up though! Many secrets stand out to me at the moment, many. ”

Shroud hit a height of 517k viewers during his Twitch return.

However, such plans are yet to come true, Shroud revealed. The streamer wants to “stabilize the whole thing first” before revealing anything “enormous” in the near future.

However, there will be many more Shroud now that he’s back on Twitch, promised the returning streamer. ‘I wished I was here. I’m here for the long haul, ‘he said. ‘I will not burn myself out, but I will be many. I’m not going anywhere. ‘

Shroud’s statement that Twitch is ‘the biggest on the market’ is a direct echo of the reason Pokimane gave when it inked its own exclusive deal in March. The star – who is currently on a month-long hiatus – admitted that she even took ‘less money’ to stay on the platform.

“There’s just not much recognition on other platforms,” Pokimane said at the time. “You could be on another site with 30k viewers, but people will still not see you as a top streamer because [everyone] looks exclusively at the Twitch space. ”

For now, it looks like Twitch may have won the first battle of the exclusivity wars. YouTube is certainly still in the fray, however, especially considering Dr Disrespect has been moved there following his ban on Twitch in June.

Dr. Disrespect and Shroud both returned to streaming within a week of each other.

Other big Mixer names like Gothalion and Ewok have already inked new deals after their platform also crashed. The former jumped almost immediately to Facebook Gaming, while Ewok joined Twitch again on August 12th.

One question mark for streamer also remains; former Mixer star Ninja has yet to rule on new digs after the closing. He has been streaming on both Twitch and YouTube lately, but has not yet locked himself into everything.
