Shin Megami Tensei V Launch set for 2021, Shin Megami Tensei 3 Getting HD Remaster

Nintendo has announced that Shin Megami Tensei V will launch next year, in 2021. It will be accompanied by an HD remaster of Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne. The new RPG from Persona creator Atlus is currently in exclusive development for the Nintendo Switch. Today’s Nintendo Direct Mini did not offer any seasonal launch windows or months, but stated that 2021 will see a simultaneous worldwide launch for Shin Megami Tensei V.

The game itself deals with an apocalyptic vision of the world where “order itself collapsed and chaos reigns over everything.” The trailer raises the question “In a world without its creator, which path will you choose?”, And it will surely make it very clear that God is dead.Additionally, a Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD remaster will be released in 2021 and will be released in the spring. The original released in 2003 for PS2, but the post-apocalyptic JRPG featuring a half-human and half-demon protagonist has been updated with high-definition images for the Nintendo Switch. It is currently unclear if this will be with any additional content, similar to other Atlus relaunches like Persona 4: Golden.

As seen by Twitter user Wario64, Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD Remaster has been slated for a PS4 release and a Switch release. This information comes from the game’s Japanese website, which announces a release date of October 29, 2020 for the game in Japan. As such, it is currently unclear whether the game will be on both consoles for its worldwide release in 2021, too.

The Shin Megami Tensei V trailer points out that a new journey will begin in the “wake” of the Shin Megami Tensei 3 HD remaster, suggesting that the next entry in the series will come later than spring.
