To commemorate what would have been his mother’s 59th birthday, Prince Harry issued a message in Princess Diana’s loving memory.
The surprise video was released at the virtual Diana Awards on Wednesday, where the Duke of Sussex praised the charity for its admirable work and for making the world a better place in the name of its mother.
“I am very proud to be a part of these awards as they honor my mother’s legacy and bring out the best in people like you,” said Harry.
“You are all doing such an amazing job and in a time of great uncertainty, you have found the power and inspiration within you to make a positive mark on the world, and I love that the Diana Award can help you do it. “She added.
He went on to say that if the Princess of Wales were alive today, she would have been with them during this distressing time to raise the voice of those seeking justice.
“I know my mother has been an inspiration to many of you and I can assure you that I would have been fighting against her corner,” he said.
“Like many of you, she never took the easy route, or the popular route, or the comfortable route, but she defended something and defended the people who needed it,” he added.
