A survey in September found that 41.5 percent of those surveyed in Belgrade were not concerned that they might be infected with corona, 13.1 percent said they thought “the situation is not as serious as it seems”, 68.6% said they wear masks and respect a distance of two meters, while around 40% said they did not wash their hands for 20 seconds.

The survey is part of a study conducted by the American Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Belgrade Institute of Economics and the Institute of Epidemiology at the Belgrade School of Medicine.

Secretary of State Berislav Vekić says that the whole of society must participate in constant education and awareness on prevention.

“Taking this information into account, the question arises as to whether they (citizens, respondents) are adequately informed about the disease, and it is especially worrying that one in three people do not wear a mask and do not keep their distance, do not pay enough attention to hygiene hands-on, all this We emphasize, because the basic way to prevent the transmission of this disease is “, warned Vekić in the online conference and added that these data are devastating.

He noted that the youth of the third peak showed irresponsible behavior and attitude towards society.

“It’s easy to wait around 11pm to walk into a disco and spend the night in a crowd where we don’t know who is positive and who is corona negative, and then the virus is transmitted to the home, and then when symptoms appear, come to “Clinics are often nervous. There have been incidents, and these are all indicators of how much we still have to work to raise awareness and prevention, “Vekic said on the panel.

He added that it is important to increase the number of tests and strengthen the capacities of the health system and health institutions.

Vekić says that so far, the health system has shown that it is ready to adapt to the situation and take care of everyone who needs help.

Our capabilities are moving in the direction of a large number of tests on a daily basis and will grow as teams arrive and as all sites – 34 labs as planned – are included in that system.

He notes that antigen testing will be introduced as an alternative to p-si-ar testing for kovid 19, which, he added, is highly reliable and will be cheaper for citizens, in order to increase the scope of testing and thus reduce pressure on kovid. institutions and institutes.
