Preventing Serbian athletes from entering Kosovo and Metohija to compete is an act against the civilization of Pristina.

Today, the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija strongly condemned the ban on Kursumlija handball players from entering the southern province of Serbia and playing a match with the Mokra Gora team.

As previously announced from Pristina, Serbian handball players have been prevented from competing as a threat to security, public health and international relations.

– This is the most flagrant violation of the right to freedom of movement, but also of the agreements between Belgrade and Pristina that regulate this matter. Bans on Serbian athletes from competing have become common practice in Pristina and indicate a fundamental disrespect for the spirit of normalization of relations, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija said in a statement.

Belgrade asks Pristina to come to her senses.

– Once again, we demand that Pristina stop preventing Serbian athletes from competing, because that kind of ban is not only against civilization, but also a form of isolation of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija and the most direct attack on their human rights, notes the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
