SEC 2020 football calendar: team breakdown of home and away matches amid the reorganization of COVID-19

Analysis: SEC reportedly going to schedule 10-game conference for soccer season
(7:21)

The SEC announced Thursday that it will move the start date of the college football season to September 26 and that it will cancel non-conference games for all members of the league. Instead, the league will complete its schedule by expanding from an eight-game conference schedule to a just 10-game schedule in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision to reject the conferenceless games cancels several high-profile games previously scheduled for this fall, including Tennessee in Oklahoma, Arkansas at Notre Dame and Texas at LSU. Because the season start date is delayed, so is the SEC Championship Game, which is now scheduled for Saturday, December 19.

“This new plan for a soccer schedule is consistent with the educational goals of our universities to enable the safe and orderly return to campus of their student populations and to provide a healthy learning environment during these unique circumstances presented by the COVID-19 virus, “SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey said. “This new schedule supports the security measures that each of our institutions is taking to ensure the health of the communities on our campuses.”

The eight-game team conference schedule typically consists of six intradivisional games, a traditional game between divisions, and a rotating game between divisions.

It is unclear at this time how the SEC will expand the schedule from eight to 10 games as it announced it will, but below is the full schedule of the SEC 2020 conference as we know it.
