Marlon Vera recently fired Sean O’Malley for apparently looking for an outlet from her Bantamweight match at UFC 252 last Sat. night (Aug. 15, 2020), stating that his injured leg had nothing to do with his knockout loss of the first round because X-rays came back fine.
Now “Sugar” goes back to “Chito” by saying that even though he finally got one on him, when all is said and done, he will end up as world champion, while Vera will be nothing more than a traveler.
“Let’s look at his career in five years, let’s look at mine,” O’Malley said on “The Timbo Sugar Show” (via MMA Fighting). ‘I’ll become f ** king world champion, he’s going to be the king’s traveler. That’s exactly what his style is. He wins something, he loses something. He’s slow, but he’s creepy, so he’s going to be able to finish some people off after hitting him for a while. The way his pace was, super slow like that, and I exploded in shots, I did not get tired and I would just hit his ass, “he admitted.
‘I do not know if I got a finish in that first round. He was hard and he was patient, which was good, because that’s easier for me, he did nothing, he stood there. The f ** king sighs. ”
After “Sugar” was cut out, Vera’s natural reaction was to celebrate, especially after the two were pretty hard on each other, verbally, in the jump to the match. For O’Malley, however, his reaction of jumping on top of the cow was a little too much for his liking.
Especially since he feels that “Chito” is lucky in “Sin City.”
“Boy, I’m beating Eddie Wineland, I’m at peace,” O’Malley said. “That was easy. He gets lucky and beats me and jumps up when he just f ** king won the lottery, that just showed me what kind he was.”
Despite the eventual mix in the Octagon, tensions are still running high between the two talented Bantamweights, though seeing as they bring it back will not happen soon as Vera has a say in the matter.
