Seahawks and NFL have unanswered questions before camp

Although there are many differences between the NFL and the NFLPA about how safe the open training ground is, it appears that the schedule will continue as planned for the Seahawks and the rest of the league.

Could Amadi beat Lockett as the Seahawks’ returner in 2020?

NFLPA Executive Director DeMaurice Smith and President JC Tretter held a press conference on Friday and pointed everyone in the direction that the camps will start on time. As planned, the rookies and some quarterbacks for the Houston Texans and the Kansas City Chiefs will report Monday. Rookies and some quarterbacks for the Seahawks and other teams will do the same in the coming days.

There are still many unknowns. Will it be two preseason games, one or zero? You start to get the feeling that it will be one or none. The NFLPA estimates that each team would seek $ 70 million in revenue, but there is no negotiated mechanism on how they can try to keep the limit fixed at $ 198.2 million. That has not yet been negotiated.

Perhaps the most important news is that the NFLPA heard from NFL team doctors that it is safe to start camps on time even in virus-affected states like Florida, Texas, California, Arizona and Georgia.

Some things have been resolved. Players who have COVID-19 will enter a COVID-19 list and will be quarantined for three weeks, but will not lose their salary. Practice squads can go to 16 and a practice squad player can get off that list to complete until the player is healthy.

If a player wishes to opt in for the season, the player must notify the league by August 1 that they will miss the season due to concerns about the virus. The player’s contract will cost next season, but its benefits will still be met.

The fact that rookies are reporting next week means we need to be on the lookout for the rapid escalation in election signature drafts. Only 93 out of 255 option projects have offers. The Seahawks have two of their eight options signed. The reason things will improve is that preliminary elections can make your deals and get physical exams.

The Seahawks may not know anything about the state of play for cornerback Quinton Dunbar, who has four theft charges against him, but is beginning to feel like he could play. Miami and Dade County, Florida is the epicenter of the virus. The area has had no tests since March and is likely to have no trails the rest of the year.

That could mean Dunbar and Deandre Baker could have a year or two to go on a date. Assuming you’re innocent until your guilt is proven, it could be difficult for the NFL to impose a suspension, but it’s still possible. For the Seahawks, the best thing to do is wait to see what the league owes.

Dunbar could be the team’s best veteran addition this offseason and will be a vital part of the high school. We are in unknown territory, know how long it will take Dunbar to spend the day in court.

Don’t worry about what might be many positive tests for the virus. As of July 10, the NFLPA says 72 players tested positive. Wait around 140 to 150 to test positive.

Los Angeles Rams left tackle Andrew Whitworth told the story Friday that a family member had lunch with someone. The family member went home and infected Whitworth, his wife, children, and father-in-law, who were in and out of the hospital.

Although he seemed shaky for a while, the NFL training camp schedule should start on time.
