Saturday was a fun day for a white wedding – but due to the pandemic, lovebirds Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams had to arrange for the next best thing.
The former Modern family star and her fiancé, especially known for competing on The Bachelorette and serves as the resident bartender Bachelor in Paradisee, were forced to cancel their August 8 marriage due to the coronavirus pandemic. In addition to restrictions at large gatherings, the actress has undergone two kidney transplants as a result of her lifelong battle with kidney dysplasia, which, as she noted in the March 18 episode of Brad Goreski’s Brad Gedrach podcast, makes her “apparently immune-compromised.”
But while the couple stays and stays safe, they could not leave their intended wedding date without some sort of celebration. And so they grabbed their prettiest white clothes – a button-down and khakis for him, sash-tie pants, a frilly lace waxed top and a sun hat adorned with a knitted veil for them – and took a beloved photoshoot at an unidentified winemaker.
‘A couple, a pandemic and a postponed wedding: a series,’ wrote the 29-year-old bride. ‘We were allowed to get married today. Instead … we took pictures and drank wine. ”
Adams, 36, shared more photos of the shoot, joking, ‘We were allowed to get married today. We do not have that. But I still had to pack an ass. That, you know, still pretty cool. ”
And on Hyland’s Instagram Stories, the future husband and wife posed in face masks by Mr. and Mrs.
The couple received wishes from famous friends, including Brandi Cyrus, Justin Mikita (husband of Hyland’s former co-star, Jesse Tyler Ferguson), Gûle‘s Jenna Ushkowitz and Michelle Trachtenberg, who had nothing to praise for Hyland’s unique veil, which was embroidered with ‘Bride to Be. ‘
“You invented a sun hat with a wedding ring,” the former said Gossip Girl en Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress commented. “Well, I think you won COVID.”
Hyland takes her stipulated wedding plans to heart. In previous Instagram posts, she acknowledged that “2020 has not gone as we thought it would”, and sparked the idea of a City Hall wedding,
“One day we will get married, but for now I will be eating junk food and Netflix all day,” she wrote in a July 7 post, one year ago that she and Adams were engaged.
