The crush of new hardware for review and discussion is starting to come down, but there are a few more gadgets about it in the coming weeks. Believe it or not, it’s also time to start talking about 2021’s consumer tech. No, not CES, but Samsung. The company is expected to hold its Galaxy S21 event in January instead of the usual March.
How come I have no good guesses, but I think I would be skeptical about COVID-related causes. Samsung may be moving significantly faster in bringing new products to market, but I claim that its flagships were built much earlier than things like the Galaxy S20F.
Our vision of time has become a cat TV amp, so I want to remind you that Samsung’s Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus were the two best Android phones released this year. (Not so much the S20 Ultra.) Samsung exited the gate early with the 5G, it had excellent battery life, a few problems, and the U.S. It was generally appreciated by people who pay attention to the gadgets here.
I just brought it up because the trend of taking Samsung phones from the time of the next version is likely to accelerate, as they will be eight months old by the time the next iPhones come around.
In any case, today we got a cache of details on the specs of the Samsung Galaxy S21 from Max Weinbach. Android Police. Most of the details aren’t particularly surprising – Qualcomm will continue to build newer versions of its chips and will do the same with Samsung Exynos. The screens will be huge.
There are three S21 models expected – a standard, a plus and an ultra. According to Android Police, The S21 will have a 6.2-inch display, the Plus will have a 6.7-inch display and the Ultra will reportedly have a 6.8-inch display.
One notable rumor is that the Galaxy S21 will support the Ultra Model S Pen. The S21 Ultra obviously won’t have a silo for the stylus, though – users will need another way to carry it, probably in case.
Meanwhile, Winebach tweeted Samsung’s 2021 lineup will include the S21 line, two Z folds and a Z Flip – suggesting that the folds will also have S Pen support. That last part isn’t really surprising as Samsung said it wanted to add stylistic support to Fold 3 at the time of the Fold 2 launch. Samsung also said it would place heavy bets on foldballs and 5G.
Notice which device is not on that list? Galaxy Note. It has led to speculation that Samsung will retire the Note line and replace it with high-end devices Fold and S21 Ultra. There’s a lot of overlap between Samsung’s Galaxy Note and Galaxy S phones, so this won’t be the wildest idea. The note is also a favorite, though, and I’m not sure telling people to buy a different stylus is likely to make them like it. Then again, if you want a stylus, where else would it really be?
Note has been in a very strange situation over the last few years. It became a full-fledged flagship that led to an explosion with specs and was just another version of the Galaxy S line but called with a stylus.
In 2020, Samsung began to redefine what its flagship, halo devices would be, focusing on fold and new ultra phones. In 2021, I think it will become clearer. I just hope that Samsung will find a way to reduce the price on its folding phones.
I also hope that the Note line will continue, though, we don’t need to make the most powerful Android phone anymore, though – we just need space to put the stylus.
Electric vehicle prices are rising
┏ Harley-Davidson’s new electric bikes look incredible – but they won’t be cheap. “Cheap” is a related term in the e-bike world, but Andrew Hawkins is true that the $ 3,400 and 5,000 5,000 range is definitely not at the bottom of the market. However, if this bike runs and looks, it can be worth it.
Are those good prices? It’s hard to say without any time in the saddle, but when combined with the specs and part list for each bike, it suggests that these will be well-designed machines that definitely deserve a very close look. They are definitely more expensive than popular brands like Vanmoof, Red Power Bikes, Sounders and others. But they will be competitive with big bike manufacturers like Specialized, Giant and Track. And the Harley Davidson badge has inherent value in some customers on its own.
┏ Tesla will no longer sell 3 models for 35,000, according to the report.
The company’s well-documented “production hell.” Thanks to, Kasturi’s plan to make 3 models of k 35,000 never really worked. Today, the Model 3 Standard Range Plus starts at $ 37,990, the Long Range Ge starts at 46 46,990, and the bonus starts at $ 54,990.[…] This is not to say that Musk has completely abandoned his plan for an affordable electric car. Thanks to the company’s new “Tables” battery cells, as well as changes to the contents of the cell, Musk said Tesla would be able to “halve” the cost per kilowatt-hour, which would cost electric cars the same as a combustion engine. Issues, Kasturi said during the company’s latest battery event. He should be allowed to sell the EV for ,000 25,000.
┏ Here’s how much it will cost when the Revion electric truck and SUV come out in 2021.
Special “launching” versions of both vehicles will come first, starting with આર 75,000 for the R1T truck and ,500 77,500 for the R1 SUV. Both will come with a 300 mile range. Revian says the 400-mile battery pack for the R1T will be available in January 2022. […] These prices represent a slight increase from what the company originally announced back in 2018.
Apple reviews and news
┏ Apple Plus OS Cos 11 Big Sur Review: Long time no see. Glad to hear that it is going well for Monica Chin, whose review is very nice. However, it is worthwhile to investigate any large and important applications you currently rely on. Overall I don’t mind the visual changes, but they tell me that the touchscreen will be just fine. It doesn’t have to be a complete overall of the whole system, it needs to be an alternative to some quick things. I hope Apple stops being so obstructive these days.
Apple seems to have rolled out a number of bugs that popped up during the really surprising rough beta period, and the final release is quite stable without any major issues. There are also no major disruptive changes, such as the removal of 32-bit app support by Catalina.
┏ Apple Mac software responds to privacy concerns over software security processes. This whole situation should be as clear as the details have shown a clear tendency not to communicate the technical details of the moment. I’m glad Apple Play has cleared it and I’m glad it will let users dislike it. The same should be true of Mac.
In its updated support document, Apple Plus specifies that the software protects when authenticating software to check when the user’s Apple ID or device identity is not included. The company also says it has stopped logging in the IP address associated with the developer ID certificate check. The iPhone-maker writes, “We have never linked data from this investigation to information about Apple Pal users or their devices. “We do not use data from this investigation to determine what individual users launch or run on their devices.”
However, something about these complaints seems to have been reported with Apple Pal, as the company says how it handles this investigation in the future is changing. Next year the company says it will roll out a new encrypted protocol for checking developer ID credentials while adding “strong protection against server failure” – that is, protection against issues that stopped opening apps last week. Finally, users will also be given the option to select all of these security protections together
Smart TV news
┏ Samsung’s new smart monitor is like a TV for your PC. A lot of people still want to use their monitor as their single display, so it makes sense to add smart TV apps to one!
┏ The HBO Max is finally coming to Amazon Fire TV devices.
The question hanging over the announcement is whether this means a deal with Roku, another major streaming aggregator on which HBO Max is currently absent, will be announced soon. Both Warnermedia and Roku have said in public several times that they want to work on the deal as quickly as possible.
┏ Hulu with live TV is raising its price to 65 65 a month. Another over-the-top TV service with a price increase.
┏ SpaceX Crew-1 team harnesses the force by bringing Baby Yoda into space with them.
