Samsung makes phones, tablets, watches and more, but did you know that it also makes movies? Well, one of a kind – in a new video promoting Exynos processors, the company pretends to be Pixar by retreating in some weird ways. And there’s no picturesque Wild Explorer present, there are musically gifted mutant Muscat characters.

The video starts with the classic up-tropes you know and choose: shaving cream, tie sinking, the journey down the stairs. But it takes a quick turn for the worse. The protagonist of Samsung’s up-knock-off fun is not a good all-group ‘Carl Frederickson. Instead, he’s named John Williams, and he’s a recent retiree who likes to use his Samsung phone and play his acoustic guitar.

After discovering a post-retirement hobby on his phone (and possibly hall using a lot of hallucinogenic drugs), John was stunned to see a magically Exynos chip from his phone – with a cute mini Mewatwo-ish Muscot character and all. The magical transformation takes John on a journey of discovery, experimenting with everything from fishing in the deep ocean to climbing a stable mountain before he finally realizes it. Really Playing the usual acoustic rock with her new pets.

Exinos just wants to help you enjoy your retirement.

He just moves on – and is surprised to see that his phone is broadcasting his influence live to the world. (Probably not on the ope periscope, though.) Jon is slowly ending up with Fed, who is probably thinking of becoming the next Ed Sheeran or something. I’m still a little overwhelmed about the final t lineline (“on the back of your favorite phone”) which seems a little half ahead after the surprisingly well animated footage.

This is definitely one of the wildest promotional videos I’ve seen this year. Is it secretly preparing us for a future in which our smartphone processors will manifest themselves as adorablely scary cartoon creatures? It’s 2020, so who knows.
