The Samsung Galaxy Buds Live may be a stronger threat to the AirPods Pro than originally anticipated. A new leak has given us reason to think that Samsung managed to put an unexpected high-end feature into its little bean-shaped headphones.
That feature is Active Noise Cancellation, which allows me to magically block out the noisy world when I walk down the street to shop for groceries. We’ve learned about this potential feature from the leaked WalkingCat user, also known as Twitter @ h0x0d, who posted a short clip we’ve embedded below.
The video, which appears straight out of the Samsung Unpacked 2020 event slated for August 5, shows the three colors of the Galaxy Buds Live that we’ve already seen in previous leaks. After one of the rose gold cocoons floats in midair, a very tempting message appears on the screen, saying “keep the noise out. Let the sound in.”

That sounds exactly like the message one would expect to hear if the Samsung Buds Live can block out ambient noise around it. It seems unlikely that Samsung would promote the new Buds this way if they simply offered passive noise cancellation.
Than it doesn’t It makes sense that this possible feature is that none of the Galaxy Buds Live leaks have shown earbud tips. Those removable and washable silicone parts are necessary to create the required seal for excellent active noise cancellation.
So Samsung, what magic are you preparing for August? We should find out in a few weeks, so stay tuned for the latest updates when Galaxy Unpacked starts on August 5.
