Ryan Day asks for patience, calls possible cancellation now ‘error’

The college football season is about to cancel. But just as conflicting reports continue to fly by the minute, Ohio State is stumping for another season.

Buckeyes players have been on board. They want to play. Parents want their children to play. The coaches want to coach. But the forces high above the athletic divisions over the Big Ten will determine the fate of the college football season. Ohio State head coach Ryan Day wants patience, and he’s sure a break is the wrong move.

“We can not cancel a season at this time,” Day told ESPN2 on Monday afternoon. ‘We should at least postpone it and allow ourselves some time to re-evaluate everything that happens. That’s why we have this scheme together, to have some flexibility. If we need to take a deep breath, let’s take a deep breath. But let’s do everything we can. We owe it to these kids to use every option we possibly can, and then we’ll go out of our way. ”

Ohio State’s position is clear: they want a season. The Big Ten presidents will decide whether to get one or not.

Lettermen Row has everything you need to know about the fate of the college football season:

Lettermen Live host by Roosters

The college football season is booming, and Lettermen Live is hosted by Roosters covering every corner of Ohio State.

Former Buckeyes Michael Bennett, Anthony Schlegel and Doug Worthington join Lettermen Row senior writer Austin Ward for an in-depth breakdown of the impressive Big Ten decision over the college football season this fall, what it would mean to move forward and if there was a path ahead is with a season, what could it look like.

The boys are talking about the player movement to call a season, coaches chiming in and the Big Ten presidents coming vote on if a season can take place this fall for the conference.

It’s an enormous episode of Lettermen Live, and it’s all hosted by Roosters on Olentangy River Road in Columbus.

Evan Pryor joins Birminology

Summer has been a bit unusual for Evan Pryor. The Buckeyes strike is three weeks away from the start of his high school senior year and has no real idea if he will return to William A. Hough outside of Charlotte (NC) or if his future is a major move across the country.

All he knows is that he’s ready to compete for a running back spot in Ohio State in January, what happens from now until then is pretty much in the air.

How often do other schools try to sling him, suggesting he can’t beat TreVeyon Henderson? How has his school responded to his concerns regarding some racial issues that prompted him to consider sitting out his senior season? What will Pryor do if he loses his senior year football due to delays with Covid-19?

The Buckeyes are talking about those items and more than the latest guest on Lettermen Row’s Birminology.
