The Health Minister, Nelu Tătaru, explained to Digi24 the cause of the explosion in the number of COVID 19 cases. Public transport is very crowded and the return of people from vacation. In the last 24 hours there are 1,713, the majority since the beginning of the epidemic. The Minister points out that if the protection rules are not met, the number of infections will increase, because we are in the most difficult month so far.
“Today is the day of 1713 cases out of almost 26,000 tests performed. This increase should be seen in the context of evaluating various tests, but also in the context of evaluating certain outbreaks in epidemiological investigations. We usually evaluate daily, every seven days, every 14 days. As I said, we are in a month in which we will have a fluctuation in the number of cases, and in the number of tests, but also the month with more measures to return to a quasi normality, including here the beginning of the school year, the month campaign, the resumption of activity in restaurants, cinemas, the return of the population from vacations, congestion in public transport and the month-end elections.
During this period you noticed crowded public transport, in which it can be mentioned again that some rules must be followed. I know that we are in a hurry, I know that economic activities have begun, that school has started, but precautions must be maximum. We estimate an increase in the number of cases, ”said the Minister of Health.
