Klaus Iohannis spoke at the Cotroceni Palace about the lack of textbooks for students. One big problem is in the eighth grade, where the auction for the Romanian-language textbook didn’t even start, although Ludovic Orban had an obligation to do so.
“It just came to my attention then. My dissatisfaction is not related to someone who failed to hire the manual. The whole system does not seem to work. Look at all kinds of purchases that could not be made because the bureaucratic methods are so complicated that even the Government You cannot buy tablets.However, this is not a rocket that flies to Mars, it is a tablet to teach children that they cannot physically go to school.

I think it is necessary to re-evaluate the entire procurement system and find ways to make procurement fair. The result should be questionable, but everything should happen in a reasonably short time and such problems can be eliminated.
I am not trying to side with anyone, but the problem with textbooks is not new, it is an eternal problem and it shows us that the whole system is poorly thought out and does not work. I affirm that, after the parliamentary elections, we will begin to work seriously, not only to implement generically an “educated Romania”, but to find the best methods to make the recruitment procedures correct and complete in a predictable and useful time to put the textbook in the student’s bench.

This government was not established to defeat an inherited system. He was asked to handle public affairs until the parliamentary elections, to pass the budget, to solve current problems. He fixed them, he dealt with the pandemic, he solved the problems caused by the start of the school year and many other things. I am convinced that after the parliamentary elections there will be a parliamentary and governmental framework with which, then, we can really start to resolve the systemic delays created by the PSD, ”said Klaus Iohannis.
