The ceremony at the Arc de Triomphe on the occasion of Romania’s National Day will take place without a military parade and without an audience, Iohannis announces.
There is no military or public parade on December 1, at the Romanian National Day ceremony. Restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic
Regarding the celebration of National Day, Iohannis said that in this “we will honor the courage and sacrifices of our ancestors by making the sacrifice of ourselves to give up the joy of participating together in traditional public events, but we will certainly be together in spirit, as a strong nation, always united and in solidarity when the rescue of the country is at stake ”.
Thus, the authorities decided that the ceremony that takes place each year at the Arc de Triomphe will be “extremely restricted”, with foreign ambassadors, doctors and medical personnel invited.
Therefore, it will be a short ceremony, without a military parade and unfortunately without the participation of the general public. The recommendation of the experts is to give up any type of public or private meetings and gatherings, they accelerate the spread of the virus. These are recommendations that I urge you to follow, including on December 1, “said Iohannis.
