The woman who fatally wounded a 6-year-old girl and a 20-year-old girl on Saturday night, on a street in the Andronache neighborhood of Bucharest, was arrested on Monday. The decision comes after forensic experts determined that the woman had been drinking before getting behind the wheel. Not enough to exceed the limit for another crime, but it will certainly depend a lot on the wrongful death investigation.

Two days after the tragedy in the Andronache neighborhood, the wrongful death investigation opened by the Prosecutor’s Office in Sector 2 takes another turn. Initially, prosecutors did not rush to act on the case of the woman behind the wheel, arguing that she was in shock after being hit by locals. However, the forensic experience required turned everything upside down.

The report on the biological samples that came to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the District Court 2 of the Capital shows that the woman consumed alcohol before getting behind the wheel. The result was 0.60 g of pure alcohol per liter of blood.

The woman was immediately called in for questioning and later detained.

During the hearings, he allegedly claimed that he had a sneezing attack and that was why he pressed hard on the accelerator pedal. In early hearings, he allegedly mistook the brake pedal for the accelerator pedal, as he did not drive too often, and denied having consumed alcohol.

The 56-year-old woman was attacked at the scene of the accident and suffered a scare. That is why the investigators released her after the first hearings.

The two girls, ages 6 and 20, died Saturday, crushed by the car she was driving. According to images from a surveillance camera, the car never gave the impression that it had braked, but on the contrary, it accelerated.

The 6-year-old girl died on the way to the hospital, and the 20-year-old girl, with multiple traumas, with internal bleeding, went into cardiopulmonary arrest before entering the operation and was declared dead after not responding to resuscitation maneuvers. .

Relatives of the victims await a speedy investigation.

“He is free, but the law must do its duty, do its justice, do its duty,” says the grieving mother of one of the victims.

The mayor of Sector 2 came to apologize

On the other hand, the people of the neighborhood also look accusingly at the local authorities.

– If they put speed limiters, would it help?

– Everyone has been asking for a long time, but they tell us there is no money! reveals the brother of one of the victims.

– Where should they have been placed?

“Look, here on the other street, it’s moving fast.” That’s why the problem happened to my sister and the other girl.

“Since the road was put into operation, accidents have begun, children have begun to die due to the lack of limiters,” says a local. “Personally, I wanted to buy them. They warned me to be careful not to buy them, because the local police will fine me for not having a permit,” confesses the man.

The mayor of the Sector, Radu Mihaiu, went to speak with the locals. He openly admitted his guilt.

“I stand in front of you and tell you that I and the Romanian bureaucracy at this moment are guilty of the death of these girls,” the mayor told residents of the area.

“But every ‘give up’ or ‘stop’ should have something like that!” A local observes.

“Yes, you’re right!” The mayor nodded.

The mayor explained that the departments subordinate to the General City Council are in charge of installing speed limiters. However, the Department of Transportation and the Street Administration say they have not received such requests in the past two years.
