The woman who was injured while traveling by plane on the Bucharest – Madris route and who later tested positive for the new coronavirus is now hospitalized in Timisoara. There the Tarom plane landed urgently, bound for the Spanish capital. The other passengers arrived in Madrid with the same plane, after it was disinfected.

The TAROM plane took off from Bucharest on Thursday, shortly after 9 am. Upon exiting Romanian airspace, the 64-year-old passenger complained of abdominal pain and breathing problems, and soon lost consciousness. The plane landed urgently in Timisoara and the woman was taken to hospital.

The woman complains of abdominal and chest pain. After the first medical investigations, the patient was transferred to the red area of the Tmișoara Infectious Diseases Hospital, because the antigenic tests were positive. Subsequently, he underwent a PCR test that also came back positive.

“The epidemiological investigation will begin. If direct contacts are detected, the procedure will be followed accordingly, until an international alert is issued if necessary, which will be sent to the competent authorities of the countries involved,” explained Cornelia Bubatu, spokesperson by DSP Timiș

Tarom announced that during the race all passengers wore a protective mask, and the possibility of someone getting sick on the road is small. However, the passengers stayed at Timisoara airport to remove the danger from the plane.
