Asked about the increase in pensions, the Minister of Labor replied that in the four years of his mandate he will avoid speculation about the calculation regime or the moment of its increase because this may disappoint the beneficiaries, and will announce the decisions when they are taken.
“As long as I am Minister of Labor, I will not enter into speculation about the pension calculation system, the time of increases, etc., because they create great expectations among the beneficiaries and I do not want to disappoint them. So I can tell you that from this day on, practically the first day I took office, I worried about creating that institutional mechanism that would allow all of us in Romania to reach pensions calculated on the basis of contributivity and equity in the public pension system. . From now on, we will only disclose the decisions we make, ”added Turcan.
