The government is preparing special measures for the organizers of concerts and cultural events in Romania, affected by the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Prime Minister Ludovic Orban, Deputy Prime Minister Raluca Turcan and Culture Minister Bogdan Gheorghiu met with representatives of this field on Wednesday to discuss measures to support this sector.

According to a government statement, two sets of proposals were analyzed, one necessary to apply in the next period and the other to prepare for the resumption of activity in the cultural field, when the epidemiological situation allows it.

Therefore, in the short term, the Government intends to take decisions designed to facilitate providing financial liquidity Organizers of concerts and cultural events, in addition to continuing to provide technical unemployment after May 15, 2020 for employees in this sector.

In the perspective of resuming the activity, the dialogue between the members of the Government and the representatives of this sector will continue within a working group, whose purpose is to identify proposals to support the cultural industry.
