The government decided on Thursday to extend technical unemployment until June 1, with the possibility of maintaining this form of support in areas that will continue to be restricted, depending on the evolution of the epidemiological situation, deputy prime minister Raluca Turcan announced.
“The government decided today to extend technical unemployment until June 1, 2020 with the possibility of maintaining this form of support in areas that will continue to be restricted depending on the evolution of the epidemiological situation. We are talking about employees with individual employment contracts, but also from liberal professions, PFA and other categories of professionals. Our declared intention is, therefore, to grant this form of support and, in parallel, with June 1 to adopt active measures, “said Raluca Turcan, at the end of the government meeting.
He specified that the measure is part of an emergency ordinance adopted by the Executive to extend support measures in various areas, including social protection, for individuals and companies after the emergency period.
“These measures will be applied for a limited period of time and only in some areas for which restrictions will be maintained will they go hand in hand with active measures to revive the economy and support directed at vulnerable groups,” Turcan said.
