The political formula that seems to emerge after Thursday’s meeting of the leaders of PNL, USR PLUS and UDMR does not have Ludovic Orban as prime minister. Florin Cîțu is the variant accepted by USR PLUS and UDMR for the post of Prime Minister.
According to information from Digi24.ro, those at USR PLUS clearly communicated their preference for Florin Cîțu, although Ludovic Orban was not happy with this option. He told the negotiating partners that he would “discuss this” with the party and reach a final answer.
In the version in which Florin Cîțu would be prime minister, USR PLUS would accept that the position of president of the Chamber of Deputies belongs to Ludovic Orban, but, for this transfer, users demand maximum compensation. They will receive the position of president of the Senate and the advisory ministries that they wish.
The UDMR will also receive important ministries, as compensation because it does not receive any of the positions of president in Parliament.
The leaders of PNL, USR-PLUS and UDMR resumed, on Thursday, the negotiations for the formation of the new Government. In a joint statement, they said that all solutions are on the table and that each side has expressed flexibility.
