5 days after the accident in which he was involved in Cerro Negro, the Minister of Transport brought the first explanations on Friday.
Lucian Bode claims that he was lounging in the back seat, that he was not paying attention to the way the SPP driver was driving, and that he had no reason to rush.
The dignitary’s car was filmed as he sped through a town and performed dangerous maneuvers. In the end, he collided with a car that was traveling regularly and stopped at a house fence.
Lucian Bode, Minister of Transport: “I deeply regret this situation. I was not driving, I was a passenger in the back seat.”
For 5 days, Transport Minister Lucian Bode refused to speak about the accident that occurred when he was returning from his home in Zalău in the capital.
Lucian Bode Minister of Transportation: “The dignitary does not have the right to tell the driver to go faster or slower, to use the signals or not. In such trips there is no rush, there is only a safe arrival at the destination.
Despite these clarifications, the images captured by a motorcyclist show that the car in which the minister was traveling was performing risky maneuvers. He sped through the town and endangered the lives of other road users. Finally, it collided with another car that circulated regularly, in which were two Polish citizens.
Lucian Bode, Minister of Transport: “We didn’t have to rush. Absolutely all the trips I have taken have been sitting in the back seat, where I have the opportunity to read, work or rest. I have never been concerned with how the SPP employee drives, in the tens of thousands of kilometers traveled for a very simple reason: until Sunday they were driving flawlessly. In the moments leading up to Sunday’s unfortunate incident, he was resting. I was, I had already been traveling for 4 and a half hours ”.
In the accident, the minister’s driver, a spp officer and a passenger in the car they collided with were injured, without the need for hospitalization. The investigation was moved from the police to the military prosecutor’s office and is now in the attorney general’s office.
Whatever the verdict of the investigators, this accident should be a lesson to all the dignitaries who speed past us every day. Furthermore, it should be an incentive for the Minister of Transport to accelerate the construction of the road between Pitesti and Sibiu. If there are, I have no such accidents.
The file, investigated by the Military Prosecutor’s Office
Initially, the case opened in the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Pitesti Court, was declined to the Military Prosecutor’s Office because the minister’s driver has military rank.
The SPP has already provided details of the incident, saying it regrets the “unease created for traffic participants.”
The Transport Ministry announced on Monday night that Minister Lucian Bode was involved in a car accident, but did not need medical attention.
Bode was in an official car driven by his driver.
Images that show how, repeatedly, the car in which Minister Lucian Bode was passing, in a continuous line, and driving a lot in the opposite direction, even overtaking a whole column of cars, were caught by one of the overtakers in traffic .
