Codrin Constantin Nicoară, the husband of mezzo-soprano Maria Macsim Nicoară, who was in a coma after falling down the stairs at his home in Iași County, wrote several messages on Facebook after the incident.

In the first message, published the day the soloist arrived at the hospital, her husband thanked her for the messages of support she received.

“The family thanks everyone for the messages of support and encouragement, as well as their prayers! May God bless you and return to your loved ones!”, wrote the pianist.

A day later, on May 12, Codrin Constantin Nicoară returned with a new message, thanking the team of doctors from the neurosurgery department of the hospital in Iași.

“Thank you so much to Dr. Caileanu and to the entire team of Neurosurgery doctors who take care of the wife!”, is displayed in this message.

Maria Macsim Nicoară, left to agonize for 8 hours

Mezzosopranai Maria Macsim Nicoară, from the National Opera in Iaşi, was found in a coma at her home on Monday night. Transported in serious condition to the hospital, the doctors announced that the next 24 hours are critical for the soloist.

According to the investigation, although she had several injuries, the soloist suffered all night in a bed. Her husband told investigators that he found her collapsed down the stairs and led her to a room, but prosecutors are reviewing the entire story.

Midfielder Maria Macsim Nicoară had to agonize for 8 hours until her mother-in-law called 112 for help. All the while, she was left in a bed afterwards, investigators suspect she was dragged from the bottom of the stairs to one of the rooms.

When a SMURD team caught up with her, the soloist was already in a coma. In front of the doctors, the artist’s family stated that it was all an accident.
