Prime Minister Ludovic Orban holds parliamentarians accountable and says that any additional spending introduced in the GEO debate on budget rectification will backfire on all Romanians.
“After they wanted to leave Romania without a government, today PSD wants to leave Romania without a budget. I ask parliamentarians to support GEO in rectifying the budget, because it is based on analysis, impact studies and the real resources we have. Any additional spending introduced in the GEO debate will backfire on all Romanians, accentuate imbalances and risk compromising the prospects for economic recovery that we have built in the medium and long term, ”says Prime Minister Ludovic Orban.

„And that is why we have made a great effort to find resources to increase the income of important categories, to increase the pension point, to find resources to support the increase in child allowances, so that local administrations can face the pandemic .“Says the prime minister.
Asked what he would do if Parliament rejected the article that provides for an increase in pensions by only 14% and a return to the increase in the pension point by 40%, he replied that he would attack the CCR for any change in the ordinance, because there are no resources.
“The project has been voted on for a long time. It was based on nothing, no analysis, no forecast. It was adopted at a time when there was no pandemic or economic crisis. We live in a new reality. The PSD must understand that this irresponsible way of doing politics can no longer continue, because it will harm all Romanians.“Says Orban.
The PSD announced that teachers and auxiliary personnel in education could receive a bonus of 500 euros, in the model of doctors, because they will be exposed in the fight against the pandemic, says the leader of PSD deputies, Alfred Simonis. He also announced that parliamentarians will reject the article that provides for an increase in pensions by only 14% and a return to the increase in the pension point by 40%.
