Around 7.30 in the morning, three trucks and a team from SMURD, from the Turda Fire Department, were alerted to put out the flames that engulfed a house on Memorandumului Street in Câmpia Turzii. A special vehicle of the Voluntary Service for Emergency Situations of Câmpia Turzii and a crew of the SAJ were also sent to the place, reports Mediafax.

Firefighters found the house in general ablaze, with the roof and wall collapsed. The lights were extinguished approximately one hour after receiving the emergency call, and operations were subsequently carried out to remove the negative effects of the fire.

The body of an 80-year-old woman was found in a room with injuries incompatible with life.

The SMURD team also provided skilled first aid to a 50-year-old man who had burns to his face and was taken to hospital.

The prompt intervention of the firefighters limited the spread of the fire to the dependencies and houses near the house destroyed by explosion and fire.
