So it is clear that on May 15, NO!

Raed Arafat spoke to Digi24 about the Alert Law passed by Parliament on Wednesday. The DSU chief says that although the law stipulates that “small shopping malls and terraces can be opened,” CNSSU can oppose it and could say “NO!” to this measure of relaxation.

Raed Arafat: The opening of the terraces, of the shopping centers will be analyzed in the National Committee of Special Situations of Emergency (CNSSU), I will not comment on what was discussed today because I do not know the whole project and everything that came out.

The problem with shopping malls that was discussed there (in Parliament – ed.), Is that shopping malls are usually a place to walk, especially children, youth, everyone goes to the mall. It is true that cinemas are now excluded from having, the food court where people go to eat, there are many people there, queue, sales … That was the reason why the internal space of the shopping center was considered a risk important. .

And yet, some stores were maintained, some services were opened, such as laundries, the grocery store there, the medical optician inside remained open, because there go the people who work directly with that service. Work it out and go.

We’ll see what small shopping malls mean. This is what epidemiologists need to observe. It is good to open them now, or it is good from June 1 or June 15. That needs to be observed.

I have not seen all the proposals in the law, but some may be under pressure from entities, groups that have pushed everywhere, who want to relax immediately. Such proposals do not necessarily coincide with what epidemiologists say, with what specialists in the field say.

We need to see how we solve this problem. I understood that there are places where the law says they can open: restaurants, terraces … This means that the CNSSU can say “NO!”. If so, that’s fine. I can, but NO!

Then it is clear that the 15 NO! If it is imperative and forces you to do something and epidemiologists say it is not good, it is normal to mention it and warn the population that it is not right. But if it says “I can” or “it is possible”, that this is the language, it means that here we have a place to discuss at CNSSU, in the technical-scientific group, to solve this problem.
