The Minister of European Funds, Cristian Ghinea, announced that he will propose the inclusion of the afforestation campaign in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). One billion euros could be allocated for forest financing, but the legislation needs to be changed.

The Minister of European Funds, Cristian Ghinea, assures that he will propose to the European Commission the inclusion of afforestation, especially the creation of forest curtains, in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Thus, the budget allocation for this area could increase up to one billion euros. Reforms are needed to get money from the PNRR for afforestation.

“We will give this money after we first make a reform of the legislation in the field, because that is the objective of the PNRR, to generate reforms first. Right now, the legislation in Romania is so tangled that efforts so far have been blocked most of the time in bureaucracy and conflicting laws, ”Minister Ghinea explained on Facebook.

The money will be delivered in stages to all institutions that can implement the procedures requested by the Ministry of European Funds.
