Children’s disease-related fear will greatly decrease because most of them have extremely mild forms of the disease and only 1 child in 1,000 needs hospitalization, says the president of the Romanian Society for Microbiology, Alexandru Rafila. “We will get used to it … we will train for a long time from now on,” says Rafila.

Asked how the students in the last benches will listen, considering that the teachers will wear a mask and the sound will be attenuated, Rafila replied that “there is a regulation that imposes a maximum number of students in the school.” Regarding music classes, according to Rafila, singing is one of the activities with the highest risk in terms of transmitting the disease, “so the music will probably be made without singing, theoretical notions, probably audio, but singing it is totally contraindicated. “

Asked also about the use of the mask by the students, Rafila explained that when they eat or drink water, “they must have a bag or a box in which they put the mask.” It says that if a child wears a mask and sneezes, they do not transmit the disease.

“A child who sneezes has a mask and does not transmit the disease due to the presence of the mask. All of these issues are elements that greatly reduce the risk of disease. Consequently, we should not consider that if someone is infected, smart, transmits the disease. We’re going to get used to it, you’ll see it happen. We will train for a long time from now. You will see that the fear of getting sick will decrease a lot because the vast majority of them only have extremely mild forms of the disease and only 0.1% of children who get sick need hospitalization, that is one in a thousand. The risk is generated by contact with people with comorbidities. We hope that a vaccine will appear and that it protects these people with chronic diseases, through vaccination, ”Alexandru Rafila also declared.

He hopes that a trial solution is found so that the child does not feel too insecure. “In the not too distant future, I think there will be tests that will be carried out in a very short time, a squad without a special qualification and I think all these situations can be adjusted.”
