Iceland, only 52 passes in the first half of the match with England
In the first 45 minutes of the game with England, the Icelanders passed 52 times. Only Eric Dier delivered 53 passes, as did the entire opposing team, in the first half.
After the break, the Icelanders balanced things out and even sought victory, but failed to shoot at goal. In the 90th minute, Iceland also fell to ten men, following the elimination of Ingason, who committed the penalty from which Sterling scored.
