Economist Adrian Câciu was invited to DC News, where he sounded the alarm.

There is the possibility of taxing pensions, but economist Adrian Câciu does not think it is a good idea. It advised, in this regard, not to resort to this measure.

“My advice is not to do this stupid thing, but I can’t intervene other than to give advice here. I’m telling you something. This is what the Tax Code looks like now, if the collection worked, we have 36% of GDP that is easy to recover”, stated Adrian Câciu for DC News.

Then, the economist explained that, in a year, the ANAF must “get to work and end tax deferrals and executions that do not happen.”

“Arrears in March increased by 7 billion lei compared to December. The pandemic had not started. What does that mean? Outstanding debts as at 31.12.2019. They reached 27 billion lei. Why have they not at least recovered partially? You can’t wait not to recover ”, Adrian Câciu also said in the DC News interviews, highlighting that“ without additional taxes in this country, you can reach 36% of GDP ”.

“We have some issues that can be taken into account in that re-analysis of fiscal competitiveness and they do not affect people,” said economist Adrian Câciu.
